In addition, there is also a perception that environmental values in character educationis less important than other values,since it was consideredcan be understood automatically. Therefore, a balanced character education that also raised environmental topics is important at the golden age of children (aged 3-7 years) to instill environment friendly habits and mindset. Thistactile children picturebookis designed asa medium that supports environmental values character education for pre-school children that can be used by both educators and parents. Through theoretical reviewsand analysis of the datasthat has been collected, a series of four picturebooks with tactile features was designed.Through anthropomorphic cartoon animal characters, environmental concepts and simple scientific facts was presented for pre-schoolers. These concepts and facts includes the cause and effect of waste pollution, simple waste management, plant care, plant’s life cycle, the origin of foods, and applicable environmental cleaning actions. These information was presented four separated stories, which was designed by implementing Martin Salisbury’s stages of illustrating a picture book, and taking Khadijah’s theory of seven fields of pre-schoolers’ cognitive developments; visual, tactile, science, audio, kinesthetic, geometry, and arithmeticin consideration.In addition, the tactile fitures that’s included in these books serve to train and stimulate children’s sense of touch and fine motor skills developments, improve their understanding about the topics raised, and as a way to extend their ability to focus text
