| Summary: | A terminal is a facility provided to enable public transport, such as busses, to starts
and ends their trips and toenable passangers to board and alight from one vehicles to
another. Kalideres Bus Terminal is a teminal with a lot of prospects, some of which
are it being located close to Tangerang City, located within the area of the secondary
economic centre of DKI Jakarta Province, and the Transjakarta BRT Station located
within the site of Kalideres Bus Terminal that connects the west side and east side of
Jakarta. Nevertheless, Kalideres Bus Terminal has also aquire several problems that
is yet to be solved, including the lack of several primary facilities, the underperforming
of the existing facilites, the mixed-crossing of both vehicle and pedestrian cirulation,
vehicles arking, boarding, and dropping off where it shouldn’t, and the disjointed
narrow pedestrian and bike path. Therefore, a redesign is required in order to solve
the problems. This design is an exploratory study based on literatures and field
observations. The study resulted on 9 normative criterias, 42 normative components
(then condensed into 9 component groups), and 39 normative design principles.
Kalideres Bus Terminal has not been able to fulfill all 39 normative principles,
meaning that it is not able to acieve the 9 normativ criteria of a regional bus terminal,
which is transit, connectivity, efficiency, security, safety, inclusivity, ease of use,
beauty and consistency. A redesign is needed to solve the problems Kalideres Bus
Terminal has. The redesign is done by analyzing the normative criterias, components,
and design pinciples, along with a site analysis and an analysis on the prospects and
problems Kalideres Bus Terminal has to form the design guidelines, structures, and
principles for Kalideres Bus Terminal. |
