Summary: | avanese script is one of the traditional Indonesian scripts that developed on the island of Java and is mainly used to write in Javanese, which is the native language of the Javanese tribe. The Javanesetribeare the largest ethnic group in Indonesia, at least 40.22% of Indonesia's population is Javanese (based on the 2010 population census). Over time, the use of Javanese script became increasingly limited because it was replaced by Latin letters or the alphabet that was used universally. One of the conservation efforts carried out by the state in preserving this nation's wealth is by teaching it through a local content curriculum that is taught in formal education since elementary school level. However, due to its limited use in everyday life, the younger generation's interest and knowledge of Javanese script is decreasing. This design aims to packageJavanese script education through attractive media by adapting the legend of Aji Saka, which is the legend of the origin of the Javanese script. Javanese script formal education in general starts at the 3rd grade level of elementary school so that the target of this design is students in grades 3-6 of elementary school. One of the media that is suitable for the design objectives is children's story books because according to Nurgiyantoro (2010: 38) The finalresult of reading children's stories is that children will feel happy, satisfied and able to learn valuable lessons |
