Alzheimer's disease is the most common neurodegenerative dementia in the elderly. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Alzheimer's dementia is increasing rapidly. Treatment available for Alzheimer's disease are limited and only relieves the symptoms of the disease without changing life expectancy or the overall development of Alzheimer's dementia. The study is provided in the form of a literature review containing a summary of plants aimed at managing Alzheimer's disease which is needed to become a reference in the development of Alzheimer's disease treatment. This literature review begins with a search for articles on journal portal websites, namely PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. The articles are then selected based on the suitability of the specified criteria. In this literature review, 34 journals that met the criteria were obtained with a total of 36 plants. The results of the literature review show that plants have the potential to prevent Alzheimer's disease. The mechanism for handling Alzheimer's disease discussed in this literature review is the inhibition of the acetylcholinesterase enzyme; Reservation inhibition of amyloid-??!??aggregates- decreased the rate of accumulation of tau protein- and antioxidants. Some of the secondary metabolites that play a role in the management of Alzheimer's disease from plants are flavonoids, alkaloids, and tannins.
