Summary: | The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the recreational needs of the people in the city
of Bandung through an increase in the use of bicycles, an increase in bicycle sales and
the fulfillment of bicycle supporting infrastructure in the city of Bandung. The
increasing need for recreation that occurs is a great potential to be developed and
make bicycles a recreational activity in the city of Bandung in a sustainable manner.
This requires the preference of cyclists in the city of Bandung as a use in order to
increase the comfort and desire of cyclists in using bicycles as one of the recreational
activities in the city of Bandung. In addition, through the study of demand for cyclists
in the city of Bandung, it can increase the sense of desire and security of the community
to use and make bicycles as a means of recreation in the city of Bandung The use of
bicycles in the city of Bandung requires the main facility in carrying out cycling
activities, namely an integrated bicycle path. Bike lanes can be a major factor in
providing other bicycle support infrastructure. Therefore, this study will examine
aspects of the demand for cyclists in the city of Bandung for the development of bicycle
lanes as supporting facilities for bicycle recreational activities. This research was
conducted using questionnaire data from bicycle users in Bandung and government
documents. The process of collecting data in this study was carried out on 271
respondents through online and offline questionnaires. The analysis used is
quantitative descriptive analysis, cross tabulation analysis, factor analysis, travel
route analysis, and supply demand analysis. This study will produce a profile of
cyclists in the city of Bandung which is seen based on socio-economic characteristics,
recreational movement patterns using bicycles and recreational movement patterns
using preferred transportation. The cyclist profile is dominated by cyclists with an age
range of 20 - 24 years for reasons of health and relaxation. The use of bicycles is
carried out using a personal bicycle and the transportation used before the bicycle is
a motorcycle. There are 6 factors that determine cyclists in doing recreation, namely
the supporting infrastructure for cycling, reasons for bicycle recreation, social
activities, climate and atmosphere, the purpose of bicycle recreation and the selection
of bicycle use factors as recreation. The results of the latest research in this study are
recommendations for the development of bicycle lanes, recommendations for bicycle
development stages and priorities for developing bicycle lanes according to the travel
routes of cyclists in Bandung. |
