Description
Summary:One of the efforts to utilize geothermal energy is to conduct exploration stages by determining areas that could potentially have geothermal sources by mapping the distribution of the minerals identical to geothermal. Soil sampling was conducted in July to August 2020 with a depth of 1-1.5 meters from the surface and then analyzed in the laboratory using the method of analysis of X-Ray Fluoroscence (XRF) obtained the distribution of elements and oxide compounds and using the method of analysis of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) obtained a relatively dominant mineral distribution found, namely: quartz, cristobalite, muscovite, alunite, albite, diopside, labradorite and kaolinite from research sites that have characteristics of low pH formation and low temperature which is one of the characteristics of advanced argillic alteration type. The more availability of alunite minerals on the surface, it becomes one of the indications that possible heat sources is close to the surface in the research area which is located in the White Crater region, the northern part and the northwestern part of Mount Patuha. It also interprets geological conditions using a diagram of Total Alkali-Silica (TAS) in volcanic to classify rock types. The research area shows a type of basaltic-andesite andesite rock. Then used a diagram of Chemical Index Alteration (CIA) to find out the level of weathering by entering the percentage value of three oxide compounds namely: Al2O3-K2O- (CaO+Na2O) which shows the level of weathering research area classified as moderate-high weathering type.
