Fragmentation is one of the parameters of the success of a blast, where this
fragmentation will affect the next stages, such as digging, hauling, and crushing. This
requires careful calculations to estimate the size of crushed stone. Hard limestone has
relatively compact physical properties with relatively high strength
The fragmentation of the blasting itself is mostly analyzed using the Kuz-Ram model
in the mining industry. However, at PT Semen Padang itself, this model cannot fully
predict the distribution of this fragmentation quickly and accurately.
This study was conducted to modified the Kuz-Ram model so that it can be used
optimally to predict the distribution of fragmentation at PT Semen Padang. The
results obtained a new form of the Kuz-Ram model by changing the value of X to
0.174 entered in the equation to predict the average size. In addition, a new equation
in the form of uniformity index (n) is also obtained, namely by changing the value of n
to 1,512. This new model is validated by actual data with a correlation coefficient of
0.999. |
