The diminishing energy reserves encourage the government to use energy that is more sustainable and environmentally friendly, this energy is RE (Renewable Energy). RE in Indonesia is very diverse, one of the potentials RE is geothermal energy. The development of geothermal energy potential in Indonesia requires a relatively inexpensive and effective method of geothermal exploration to detect geothermal reservoirs. Measurement of mercury gas can be used as a method that is quite accurate in finding geothermal potential areas at the preliminary exploration stage of geothermal prospects. In this study, the determination of the potential zone took measurements at seventeen (17) tests well points. Measurements were carried out from July to September 2020. The measured mercury gas concentration had a value of 0 ng/m3 to 38.22 ng/m3. High concentrations of mercury gas (above the value of 5.13 ng/m3) were found at points PPA-04, GDE-02, TTN-12, and TTN-14. The concentration value was then correlated with lithology, geological structure, distance from the monitoring point to Kawah Putih, and descriptive statistical calculations. Lithological conditions have no effect on the measured mercury gas concentration. The existence of geological structures and the distance from the monitoring point to Kawah Putih tends to affect the mercury concentration value. The mercury gas concentration value which has been correlated with several parameters is then used to estimate the mercury gas anomalous zone. From the results of the correlation analysis of each parameter, it is suspected that there are two anomalous zones of high mercury gas, namely the zone around the TTN-12 and TTN-14 points in the Kawah Putih area, Rancabali. text
