Description
Summary:In its growth, the pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia cannot ignore the development of global pharmaceuticals. Apart from the development of the national pharmaceutical market, this industry is currently in an increasingly competitive global market. The procurement of drugs that focus on generic drugs in large quantities has brought big changes to the Indonesian pharmaceutical market. As a result, pharmacies are losing customers, pharmaceutical wholesalers are losing the hospital market, while the pharmaceutical industry is experiencing minus growth because they have to operate at low prices and low margins. To overcome this, one solution is to improve the manufacturing process where there are still many leaks / losses in terms of time, product and cost. The purpose of carrying out this research is to determine the achievement of Overall Equipment Effectiveness, abbreviated as OEE from the encapsulation machine in the Soft Capsule unit, to identify potential causes for the low achievement of OEE values and to provide recommendations for improvements and ways to increase the effectiveness of the encapsulation machine on the Soft Capsule production line. In this study, direct observations were made during the encapsulation process. During the observation the data was recorded in the OEE form, then the process of calculating the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value was carried out, which value had not yet reached the target, namely 74.37%. The results of the calculation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) were analyzed using a cause and effect diagram or Fishbone Diagram to determine what dominant factors were causing the inadequacy of the OEE value. The 3 main components of OEE are Availability Ratio, Performance Ratio, and Quality Ratio to determine the level of achievement. Of the 3 components, only one exceeds the standard, namely the Quality Ratio. Improvement and improvement efforts can increase the value of OEE with the outcome of increasing efficiency and productivity at PT. X.
