The charm of the cultural landscape of Prambanan & Ratu Boko in Yogyakarta will be used for the main attraction for the development of resort hotels. A chosen location on the top of the Boko hills, two kilometers east of the Ratu Boko Palace site (abhayagiriwihara), is a sacred area and the center of the microcosm of the entire cluster of temples in the Prambanan area. From this unique context, a resort hotel design is needed that is able to appreciate its position in the sacred area of the cultural landscape, by appreciating the existing spiritual values, and introducing the unique experience of the contextual relationship with the existence of the Ratu Boko Palace. To achieve the objectives of the design. Comprehensive observations were made on the relics in Ratu Boko to understand the initial function, layout, and identify the peculiarities of the design. Meanwhile, an in-depth study was also carried out to understand the traditional values based on the cosmological conception that exists in the cultural landscape of Prambanan, especially in the Boko hills area, and the legacy of Ratu Boko, which is being the focus of the context. On the one hand, the typology of the earthshelter design with its superiority that is able to blend the presence of the building is thought to be able to answer the demands of the building profile that must be subdued. The results of the study and analysis are then used as a guide in formulating the design concept. The results of the abhayagiri resort design through the earthshelter design, show that the earthshelter is a pragmatic idea to blend the presence of the building with its natural environment. On the one hand, as an unusual way of responding to the position of the site which is located in the sacred orientation of the abhayagiriwihara, adopting the existence of sacred caves, to continue the form of sacred buildings in the position of sacred values, as a way of preserving the intangible values of the cultural landscape
