Summary:The Zingiberaceae tribe is known as a ginger plant which is widely used as a spice for cooking, traditional medicine, cosmetic ingredients, and ornamental plants. One type of the Zingiberaceae tribe is Curcuma mangga or mango ginger. Cucuma mangga has been widely used traditionally as a medicine relieve symptoms or treat diseases such assmallpox, hypertension, fever, flu, menstrual disorders, fertility disorders, hernias, muscle cramps, hyperlipidemia, appetite enhancer, gastritis, diarrhea, myalgia, treatment of venereal diseases, cosmetics, feminine care, pre- and postpartum, rheumatism and gout, headaches, skin diseases, liver disease, stomach pain, constipation, asthma, tuberculosis, typhus, cytotoxic, low blood pressure, and others. The purpose of this literature review is to examine various phytochemical compounds and potential pharmacological activities of Curcuma mangga. The data used in the literature review related to the phytochemical profile and pharmacological activity of Curcuma mangga were obtained from the international scientific journal search engine Google Scholar, PubMed Central (PMC), and Science Direct. This literature review contains information on the compounds of the terpenoid class (monoterpenes, diterpenes, sesquiterpenes), phenolics, polyphenols, and steroids which is non-volatile and volatile secondary metabolite compounds and their potential pharmacological activities. Potential pharmacological activities of Curcuma mangga include analgesic, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy, antioxidant, cytotoxic, antimicrobial, antituberculosis, antiplasmodium, and immunostimulant activity. From the 10 activities that have been studied, it is known that Curcuma mangga has the potential to be developed as an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant.
