INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/56663 The usage of drug to treat ailmentssuch as infection and cancer has its limit. There were resistance and non-selective drug characteristics toward the targets which raise problems in medicinal field. Therefore, it is necessary to examine drug candidate. The examination of drug candidate, especially from marine microorganisms especially fungi, may solve the problem. In recent years, research on metabolites obtained from marine biodiversity has increased. The ocean provides a unique ecosystem that contributes to formation of secondary metabolites. Secondary metabolites that have been isolated from marine-derived Cladosporium sp. have shown remarkable diversity of bioactives which is advantageous and promising to source new drugs. The purpose of this literature review is to study secondary metabolite compounds produced by the fungus Cladosporium sp with their cytotoxicity, antibacterial and antivirus activity. The search for sources was done by the PubMed and ScienceDirect sites with maximum publication date of the last 10 years. There were eight main journals used to obtain data regarding the secondary metabolites and their activities. According to the literature review, it has been reported that there are 39 secondary metabolite compounds produced by the marine fungus Cladosporium. That compounds consist of propionic acid, pyrazine, citrinin and their derivatives, cladosporol derivatives, chromone derivatives, pregnane, steroid, alkaloid indole, tertramic acid derivatives, and decaline with tetramic acid as substituent. Out of the 39 compounds of secondary metabolites, there were seven compounds displayed antibacterial activity, 13 compounds showed citotoxicity, 16 compounds exhibited antiviral activity, other than that there are three compounds that showed cytotoxicity and antibacterial activity. text
