Summary: | Jakarta is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia which has a large and densely populated area. According to Central Bureau of Statistics, the population of DKI Jakarta will grow by an average of 0.7% annually. The population of Jakarta, which continues to grow, needs primary commodities for daily needs and one of them is clean water. Meanwhile, there are still around 40 percent of Jakarta residents who cannot have access to clean water. This has led to uncontrolled extraction of groundwater. One of the consequences that will occur in the city of Jakarta if it continues to carry out these activities is Land subsidence. Land subsidence is one of the changes in shape of the vertical position from a reference point, this phenomenon can affect infrastructure and people activities in an area. The purpose of this studies are to correlate groundwater extraction activity represented by the Lowering of Groundwater Level and Groundwater Usage to the phenomenon of Land Subsidence, determine the comparative value of Land Subsidence with Groundwater Levels, as well as determining the amount of land subsidence in the DKI Jakarta Region in 2017-2019 based on Global Positioning System (GPS) observation data. In order to calculate correlation rate between three variables such as, Lowering Ground Water Level, Groundwater Usage, and Land Subsidence, are calculated using the multiple correlation method. Meanwhile, to determine the correlation rate between the two variables, Groundwater Level and Land Subsidence, are calculated with Pearson correlation method. Based on GPS observation data, land subsidence in the Jakarta area ranges from 0-16 cm per year. The observation points that have the largest derivation, namely 12 and 15.5 cm per year are in the Kamal and Kapuk Muara, North Jakarta. Comparison between Groundwater Level and Land Subsidence is carried out to determine whether there are factors other than groundwater extraction, which are more dominant causing land subsidence. If the comparison value is far from 1/20 then there may be factors other than groundwater extraction. The result of multiple correlation analysis gives a value of 0.88, which means that groundwater extraction activities have a very strong effect on the land subsidence phenomenon. |
