Description
Summary:Higher education institution as a strategic institution should have an integrated information system. Higher education institutions must be occupied with database system that can handle all facility management needs properly, one of which is the management of university permanent facilities in the form of campus buildings, rooms, and utilities. A good facility management will be able to summarize and visualize all facility data in one integrated system. Therefore, the author in this final project intends to visualize the three-dimensional (3D) spatial data in a facility geographic-information system (GIS) at Jatinangor ITB Campus using augmented reality (AR). In this case, AR can be a good support in visualizing geometric and semantic data of spatial objects by projecting it to the location where the object is in the real world so that this application can provide a more realistic picture between the model and the original object on earth. In general, the AR-GIS integration process that will be carried out includes the process of converting a 3D model of the CityGML LOD 1 building in .GML format to shapefile format then uploading it to the Mapbox cloud server, developing the 3D augmented reality environment with Mapbox for Unity SDK, user interface designing process, rendering process with ARCore SDK and Android Studio to produce an Android-based augmented reality application. The results of this study are expected to provide good visualization and understanding for users in identifying and managing facilities by seeing the relationship between data and actual conditions in the real world.
