It is necessary to determine a feasible and safe area to construct offshore platforms. The best suited location is those with a relatively flat seabed topography and is safe from harmful seabed features. This study aims to evaluate the condition of the recommended seabed for the suitable location for the offshore platform placement, so that the oil and gas exploration and exploitation can be carried out optimally. The data used in this research were Multibeam Echosounder (MBES) and Side Scan Sonar (SSS) data. The method used in this study is the suitability analysis of the seabed based on two parameters, namely slope and seabed features. The integration of those two data resulted in bathymetric map and seabed features imagery. The map will provide recommendations of the seabed suitability, by combining two aspects, namely slope and seabed features. The results shows that the bathymetric conditions were in the range 23.227 – 44.143 m and was classified as shallow water. It is found that the study area was dominated by the flat surface as much as 61.77% and 27.88% of near flate slope. On the study area’s seabed, it was found several seabed features in the form of pipelines, cables, shipwrecks, jack-up footprints, platform legs, trawl scars, anchor scars, pockmarks, and sonar contact. The result proposed an area of 115,049.734 m2 as a recommendation for suitable location of the offshore platform placement that are safe from the danger of seabed features. text
