Summary: | Bamboo is a potential construction material in Indonesia because bamboo is found
in almost all regions in Indonesia. Bamboo has economic value and ecological
advantages as a construction material and has the potential to be a substitute for
wood or other materials for various types of structures and one of them is for space
frame structures.
This research was conducted to examine the strength and damage pattern of the
modified bamboo space frame construction system to maximize the maximum
length of bamboo. The study was carried out with full-scale manual loading on one
space frame module. The loading was carried out three times. The first test of the
structure is able to withstand loads of up to 1,271.46 kilograms without
experiencing damage to the structural system. The second test was carried out by
adding an initial load of 500 kilograms, the structure collapsed after the load
reached 1345.51 kilograms. The structure suffered damage to the horizontal
bamboo and T-Joint joints. The third loading is done by improving the distance of
the T-Joint connection on diagonal bamboo from 80 mm to 50 mm. The structure
is able to withstand loads up to 1,771.62 kilograms. |
