Kelurahan Cibangkong is included in the riverbank area of Cikapundung Kolot
with several RWs are a flood-prone area. Flooding in this residential area was
included in the category of river flood, which is not only caused by the overflow of
the Cikapundung River if the rainfall increases, but also exacerbated by the
negative externalities caused by the construction of Trans Studio Mall shopping
center. The problem of flooding in this riverbank residential area is a recurring
disaster that can occur when the intensity of rainfall increases, thus requiring the
local community to be able to adapt.
This study aims to determine how the community living adaptation in the area of
RW 05 and RW 011, Kelurahan Cibangkong to the Anak Kali Cikapundung's flood
disaster. This study was designed using qualitative research methods. Data
collection methods were obtained through field observation, secondary data
through literature review and primary data obtained through the distribution of
online questionnaires using the Google Forms application. The data analysis
technique used is descriptive statistical analysis technique to be able to explain how
the efforts of community living adaptation in the area of riverbank Anak Kali
Cikapundung, and supported by simple correlation analysis to determine the level
of the interrelationship between variables.
Based on the results of the study, it was found that several factors influenced the
residents' desire to continue living in the area of RW 05 and RW 011, Kelurahan
Cibangkong, even though floods occur repeatedly every year. Some of these factors
include the length of stay, frequency of flooding, level of housing damage, previous
flood experience, similarity in the background (ethnic), neighborhood
participation, and level of relationship between residents. In addition, the reasons
of why residents choose to stay, because they feel comfortable and feel at home, are
their homeland and have lived in the area for generations, because they feel they
are used to flooding so they already know how to deal with floods, the level of active
participation among residents when a disaster, strategic location and close to the
city center, close to work, still with parents, accompanied by husband, and another
reasons that do not have other housing outside the current location.
The form of living adaptation carried out by residents of RW 05 and RW 011,
Kelurahan Cibangkong is divided into 3 (three) categories; that are physical
adaptation, social adaptation, and economic adaptation. The form of physical
adaptation is carried out by making water retaining embankments, elevating the
surface of the building floor, and adding the building floor. The social adaptation
carried out includes mutual help between residents, cooperation in the form of
mutual assistance, an early warning system, and the existence of disaster
preparedness groups. The forms of economic adaptation are carried out by the
existence of other sources of income, the existence of housing outside the current
location, and the sale of property as capital for improvement efforts.
Residents' adaptation efforts to settle down are influenced by several factors,
including habit factors (because they are used to flooding), family factors,
cooperation and mutual help between residents, strategic location and close to the
city center, aid from the government and local communities in efforts to maintain
the built environment and build embankments, and the desire to stay.
It is hoped that this research can provide benefits in the academic field, and also
can be considered and a source of additional information for various parties in
terms of regulation areas, especially residential housing areas. In addition, it is
hoped that this research can be a benchmark for the government in terms of
handling cases of flood disaster problems in densely populated urban settlement
areas, belonging to the riverbank area |
