Description
Summary:Arabica coffee is a commodity that is widely known in the world since the 17th century and has become one of the most important commodities produced in various regions in Indonesia, especially Priangan. Arabica coffee comes from the C. arabica species which is first discovered in Ethiopia. C. arabica is one of the hundred most traded coffee species in the world. Arabica coffee can only grow well in certain areas that meet various growing requirements, namely: an ideal temperatur, nutrients, altitude, climatic conditions, and soil pH. The combination of these growing conditions can produce healthy plants, the best coffee beans, and are closely related to the area or place where Arabica coffee is grown. On Earth, Arabica coffee trees can only grow in certain areas, namely areas that have an average annual temperatur between 18°C - 21°C , an annual rainfall pattern between 1100 - 2000 mm, soil rich in active organic matter that is well irrigated with a content of more than 30 % soil with varying acidity between pH 4.1 - 6.3, at an altitude of 1200 - 1950 masl such as in Priangan, an area in West Java, known as an area with mountains and a cool climate is ideal for Arabica coffee growth. This research uses literature study and interview methods to obtain the primary and secondary data related to the writing of the Final Project. The data will be analyzed by using descriptive analysis method. The research in this Final Project is focused on reviewing the growth of Arabica coffee trees on Earth related to astronomical aspects. Specifically reviewing coffee growth in Priangan and determining the causes and effects of meeting the requirements for growing Arabica coffee trees.
