To support this activity, a note-taking app specifically designed for note-taking is needed. The problem is, currently available note-taking apps on the market have several limitations. Thus, the users are quite reluctant to use and install those available note-taking apps, and using word processing apps or text editing apps instead. The problem is, those class of apps (word processing apps and text editing apps) are not designed specifically for note-taking. This problem is solved by using two step approach. First, identify the problems that the users have while they are using word processing apps or text editing apps to do their note-taking tasks. Second, design and implement a new notetaking application that specifically solves all those problems that are identified on the first step. The unique characteristics that note-taking use case have is the need to reduce the cognitive load. Users have limited cognitive capacity. Most of their cognitive capacity is already allocated to do the note-taking taks. Thus, this note-taking apps should be designed that it wont add much load to the users' limited cognitive capacity. Based on this findings, we have designed and implemented a note-taking apps that is focusing on cognitive load minimization. This minimization is being implemented by several UI-UX improvement, such as : distraction-free UI, ergonomic font choice, and several automation feature such as autosave and autoscroll. This application is offline-based. For further development, this application can be improved to become an online platform apps. People can make their own account and use it directly on their browser without having to install it locally. The data will be stored on the cloud. text |
