STUDI VARIABILITAS KANDIDAT SUPERMASSIVE BINARY BLACK HOLE BLAZAR 3C 273 PADA RENTANG SINAR-X DAN IMPLIKASINYA PADA MEKANISME PEMBANGKITAN ENERGI
3C 273 is a blazar that has variability in the optical band with periods of about 2, 13.6, and 22.5 years, so it is suspected to be a supermassive binary black hole. 3C 273 has a complex observation feature on its X-ray energy range so it can be observed as a Seyfert galaxy. The objective of this fi...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/57025 3C 273 is a blazar that has variability in the optical band with periods of about 2, 13.6, and 22.5 years, so it is suspected to be a supermassive binary black hole. 3C 273 has a complex observation feature on its X-ray energy range so it can be observed as a Seyfert galaxy. The objective of this final project is: Exploring 3C 273 characteristics during the X-ray range and its link as a supermassive binary black hole (SBBH) and describing 3C 273 observations based on the assumption of the expression using Swift mission observation data. To achieve the two objects were carried out as a data observation of Swift/XRT missions in 2005 - 2020 for windowed timing mode. Observational data is then analyzed according to features in the light curve, hardness-intensity diagram, and X-ray spectrum. At the X-ray range, the blazar spectrums are generally dominating by radiation from jets. But if the blazar SBBH is a close-range, it could be observed at least in one spectral range. To examine the existence of this effect, the 3C 273 spectrum model used in this final project, specifically the power-law which is frequently used to model the radiation process from jets, and a disk black body model for modeling the thermals radiation from the accretion disk expected to suffer disruption as the two supermassive black hole interactions. The model used is statically suitable, but the physical state of the radiation component cannot be properly explained, so an alternative model to explain the radiation component is needed. The result of this study on the final project is that X-ray 3C 273 spectrum has known characteristics that are different from blazars in general, so additional mechanisms are needed, besides that generally work on blazars. Therefore, the external disturbance model that may be the effect of the SBBH interaction cannot be ruled out. text |
