Main product of the company is propeller aircraft. Product that will be focused in this research is NC212i-plan. The assembly process became the most critical process in the production of NC212i aircraft. Currently PT Dirgantara Indonesia has not been able to fulfill the NC212i aircraft orders because the assembly process often experiences delays, especially in fuselage assembly. From the existing data, it was obtained that the fuselage assembly has a cycle time of 1018.04 hours greater than the desired cycle time of 300 hours. Therefore, it will be designed an assembly line by making changes to the allocation of work elements in the station so that the cycle time can meet the desired cycle time with a minimal Smoothness Index value. The method will be used in this research is the Heuristic Region Approach/Killbridge and Wester Method. This method will result in a near-optimum solution in the form of the allocation of work elements in each workstation. The process of calculating the solution is done with the help of Microsoft Excel 2019 software. Inputs that will be used in this research are work element data, standard time data of each work element, fiselage sub-assembly jig list, and precedence diagram. The given solution results in improvements to the four sub-assembly fuselage. Proposed solutions can reduces cycle times from 1018,004 hours to 299 hours and reduces Smoothness Index from 3007.77 to 595.8495. text
