SERVICE DESIGN FOR FARMER GROUPS IN KARNOSARI VILLAGE USING HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN APPROACH

Karnosari Village is an area located in Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java. Geographically, the village is surrounded by vast rice fields so that most of the population works in agriculture, especially with rice commodities both as landowners and/or farmers. Rice productivity in this area is still not maximized due to crop failure caused by various factors such as floods in the rainy season, pests, lack of water in the dry season, as well as limited knowledge of farmers about rice farming. In order to maximize the potential of agriculture in Karnosari Village, one of the efforts made is to empower farmer groups through its program. The program is designed using a human centered design approach consisting of 3 stages, namely inspiration, ideation, and implementation. Some of the programs proposed in this study include improving village irrigation, leasing agricultural tools and machinery at affordable prices, agricultural insurance services, creating communication platforms for farmers and landowners, education of agricultural systems for farmers, as well as procurement and distribution of fertilizer to farmers. Based on the results of data processing, one of the solutions chosen is agricultural insurance. Agricultural insurance provides protection in the form of business capital assistance in case of crop damage or crop failure due to natural disasters, pest attacks, and/or disease outbreaks.
