Description
Summary:Energy is the basic needs for human beings. Energy is a strategic commodity considering that the entire system and dynamics of human life are depends on energy. Thus, energy is the lifeblood of live and the driving force for all sectors. Primary energy needs in Indonesia are increasing in line with population and economic growth. Currently, the majority of the energy used comes from oil fuel and coal. Even though the availability of of fossil fuel resources are not much anymore. It is the right time to switch the energy become renewable ones that is guaranteed the availability and also much more eco friendly. But this is not easy, it takes huge effort and corporation from many elements behind it. Natural gas is one of the promising alternatives in this transition. Natural gas is promsingly showing its important role in electric generation today. Natural gas tends to be preferred over than other fossil fuels because it can help achieve two essential energy goals. It provides the sustainable energy supplies and services needed for secial and economic developement and also reducing adverse impacts on global climate and the environment in general. This makes it a good alternative in the transition from fossil energy to the renewable energy. In this undergraduate thesis , the author will conduct an assessment of the existing gas pipeline that had changed its structural integrity due to corrosion. fitness for service (FFS) level 3 assessment is necessary to ensure the integrity of the pipeline. With this analysis, hopefully the pipeline can be operating safely and ensure the availability of raw natural gas at the processing facility.
