One method to increase OPT’s quality is impregnation technology. This study is purposed to determine optimum concentration of impregnated OPT in durability aspects from termites and powderpost beetles attack and weather resistance. OPT is impregnated with impregnant consisting of oil palm shell ash and phenol formaldehyde (PF) resin with concentration variety are 0% (PA0), 1% (PA1), 3% (PA2), 5% (PA3), and 10% (PA4). Each treatment was carried out three replications. The experimental design used are CRD and DMRT analysis for post-hoc test. The durability test that had been done are drywood termites, subterranean termites, powder post beetles, and weather resistance. The result shown that PA3 is the best treatment based on durability from drywood termites (class I) and weather resistance. PA0 is the best treatment based on durability from subterranean termites (class III). PA2 is the best treatment based on durability from drywood termites. By the obtained specification, the impregnated OPT could be used as raw material in furniture production and outdoor use. text |
