Water quality monitoring at Peusangan river that was conducted by BAPEDAL Aceh in 2016 in first period classified into “good condition” and in the second period classified into “lightly polluted”. Decreasing of the water quality is a challenge for PDAM Krueng Peusangan to produce treated water based on Permenkes No.492 of 2010 regarding to drinking water quality requirements. Risk management is one of effective means of consistently ensuring the safety of drinking water supply that can control the risks from raw water source to consumer through processes, assessments, risk priorities and also improvement plans that are achieved through the Water Safety Plan (WSP). Water Safety Plan (WSP) assists drinking water supply agencies to produce water quality in accordance to meet the health standards. From the first step of WSP, there are 17 hazardous events were found that could cause a decrease in produced water quality from Teupin Mane WTP, BRR WTP and WKE WTP. In general, this occurs due to activities upstream of the river, inappropriate doses of coagulant and disinfectant, leakage of distribution pipes and air quality measurement that is not carried out routinely. To overcome the hazardous events that have been identified, 41 control measures are needed. After reassested, 22 improvement plans were found to control the major themes of these hazardous events. In addition, operational monitoring for air quality control are also provided along with Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (IK). All WSP activities and the results are also communicated through internal and external communications. Supporting programs, improvements and audit schedules are also provided to assist the implementation of WSP to help PDAM to produce standard water quality at all times. text |
