This research aims to maximize the benefits of bamboo, especially in lightweight structures. Information regarding the mechanical properties of bamboo ropes is still very minimal and unknown to the wider community. The research subject was bamboo rope with the aim of knowing the mechanical properties of bamboo ropes. The natural properties of bamboo make the strength of bamboo vary based on type, age, and many other factors. Therefore, research on the mechanical properties of bamboo will be focused on bamboo rope, this research uses standardized methods in ISO 22157: 2019 as a reference in measuring the mechanical strength of bamboo rope properties. The research was conducted using experimental methods. The results of this study will determine the characteristics of Bamboo Apus when receiving compressive, shear, and tensile loads in the direction and perpendicular direction of the fiber. text
