INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/57243 Phytoremediation was one of the environmental projects run by Environment Department in PT. Abadi Bersama Cahaya Indonesia, which just began a few years ago. Phytoremediation project was focused on capacity supply by ensuring sufficient site processing. From what had been done, this project encountered a huge gap between plan and actual on its performance, where variance was 169% above plan. It was quite different from the previous year in 2018 and 2019, where maximum variance was 45%. Even though the project had successfully achieved the objective in providing the required capacity of processing site, but the gap between plan and actual was quite big. It caused the project have to react quickly with the project change. Furthermore, there is a potential risk where project will be executed by different organization started in 2021. Therefore, the evaluation is necessary to be conducted to define factors of project management process that had been done to achieve project objective in 2020 and to define the solution of improvement that can be recommended to sustain project success in the next project year. This research focused on planning and executing phase, which design framework and main literature were obtained from PMBOK Guide. This research used qualitative approach to define factors affected project to achieve successful project objective from high-impacted departments; project, construction and facility operation team. The interview was conducted to obtain information, insight and recommendation, which results were interpreted using structural coding methods and fish bone diagram to define major findings that affect to the project success. There are 3 key factors that mostly affect to the success of Phytoremediation project, which are project alignment, performing risk assessment and mitigation, and good schedule and resource plan. The recommendations are generated using researcher observation and insight from respondents, PMBOK Guide, Journals, and Internet Articles. There are 3 recommendations need to be implemented for this project to attain successful project objective in the next project year, which are improve communication techniques and meeting frequency from leaders to team members, develop risk assessment matrix at all potential sites, and obtain 2 dedicated and 1 shared contractors to handle E.P. project. text |
