Most of the gas is adsorbed on the coal matrix surface and only small amount of gas is present in cleat.CBM production start from dewatering process that produce water to decrease reservoir to the desorption pressure. After reach the desorption pressure, gas will come out from matrix diffuse to the cleat and then will continue to flow to the wellbore. It’s often to found coal seams that have a dip which can effect the production mechanism of CBM. CBM reservoir that have a dip need to be treated differently compare to flat reservoir. If we just make wells and infill without doing proper study, it’s possible that our well will only produce water with a little of gas. And it’s also often found coal seams that have a connection with aquifer. This thing will make the reservoir pressure will decline slowly, thus will make dewatering process take a longer time. To overcome it, installed horizontall wells as “sacrifices well”, which is only produce water continuously to decrease pressure. The results is dcreasing the dewatering time significantly and produce gas earlier. In this papper, writer do simulations and study to analyze the well patterns of production wells to get an optimum result with the application of horizontal well as “sacrifice well” as well. text
