THE EFFECT OF COFFEE SKIN WASTE (COFFEA SP.) WITH AMMONIATION PROCESS AS ALTERNATIVE FEED MIXTURE ON GROWTH, FEED CONVERSION, AND MEAT QUALITY OF COBB BROILER CHICKEN
The high cost of feed that needs to be spent is still a problem for breeders. Utilization of industrial waste can be an alternative for use as a constituent of feed, this is because the price is relatively cheaper. Indonesia is a producer of 642,000 tons of coffee in 2020. The high fiber content in coffee skins requires additional processing in the form of ammoniation. This study aims to determine the effect of differences in the percentage difference between the coffee skin flour mixture and broiler chicken feed on the value of the Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Efficiency Conversion Digested (ECD), and the quality of the meat content. Cultivation of broiler Cobb strain was carried out for 35 days at the SITH ITB Haurngombong Educational Garden, Kab. Sumedang. The data obtained were analyzed using IBM Statistic 26. The results showed that there was a slight difference in fiber content in the combination of feed when compared with the SNI provisions regarding feed content, there was no significant difference between treatments on Feed Conversion Ratio and Efficiency Conversion Digested, as well as the best proximate results. Chicken meat is found in treatment P2 for moisture content, P4 for ash content, P1 for protein content, P0 for fat content, and P0 for gross energy / 100 grams. text |

The high cost of feed that needs to be spent is still a problem for breeders. Utilization of industrial
waste can be an alternative for use as a constituent of feed, this is because the price is relatively
cheaper. Indonesia is a producer of 642,000 tons of coffee in 2020. Coffee skin is one of the wastes
from the coffee production process and contributes to 40% of the weight of the coffee cherries.
This makes coffee an alternative ingredient for broiler chicken feed. The high fiber content in
coffee skins requires additional processing in the form of ammoniation. This study aims to
determine the effect of differences in the percentage difference between the coffee skin flour
mixture and broiler chicken feed on the value of the Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Efficiency
Conversion Digested (ECD), and the quality of the meat content. Cultivation of broiler Cobb strain
was carried out for 35 days at the SITH ITB Haurngombong Educational Garden, Kab. Sumedang.
The data obtained were analyzed using IBM Statistic 26. The results showed that there was a slight
difference in fiber content in the combination of feed when compared with the SNI provisions
regarding feed content, there was no significant difference between treatments on Feed Conversion
Ratio and Efficiency Conversion Digested, as well as the best proximate results. Chicken meat is
found in treatment P2 for moisture content, P4 for ash content, P1 for protein content, P0 for fat
content, and P0 for gross energy / 100 grams. |
