Summary: | The Lembang Fault which is proven to still experience active movement, makes the area around it have a high seismic potential. Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the risk of an earthquake due to the Lembang Fault in the Bandung areas and surrounding as well as to compare the variables and criteria that affect the risk of this earthquake.
This study uses three main criteria in the form of hazard, vulnerability and exposure according to the concept of disaster management. The variables used for hazard assessment are peak acceleration values in bedrock, for vulnerability assessment using amplification factor, fault density, distance from fault, soil movement susceptibility, building density and social index, while for exposure assessment using building assets and population variables. The method used in this assessment as a whole uses Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method.
The results of this study are the earthquake disaster risk map which shows that 283.07 km2 of the area has a very high risk which has an impact on 1,203,794 residents and building assets with a total value of 302.27 trillion rupiah; 446.38 km2 of area has a high risk that has an impact on 3,198,951 residents and building assets with a total value of 953.33 trillion rupiah; 339.81 km2 of area has a moderate risk that has an impact on 1,930,313 residents and building assets with a total value of 673.89 trillion rupiah; 213.70 km2 of low-risk area that has an impact on 508,825 residents and building assets with a total value of 184.73 trillion rupiah; and 51.97 km2 of area has a very low risk impact on 30,352 residents and building assets with a total value of 21.14 trillion rupiah.
