Cultivation of M. spicata plants with a hydroponic system results in higher productivity. The utilization of organic waste as hydroponic plant nutrition can improve plant quality and reduce the use of chemical nutrients. Larvae from Hermetia illucens can be used as bioconversion of organic waste into liquid fertilizer. So this study aimed to determine the best combination of ABM solution with leachate from the bioconversion of Black Soldier Fly on the quantity and quality of the spearmint leaf extract (Mentha spicata) obtained by the maceration method. The treatment in this study was the cultivation of hydroponic M.spicata which was given nutrition of 100% ABM (A), 75% ABM: 25% leachate (B), 50% ABM: 50% leachate (C), 25% ABM: 75% leachate (D), and 100% leachate. The results showed that treatment A was the best treatment with the acquisition of essential oil of 3.3885% and carvone content of 29.3%, then B the acquisition of essential oil of 2.791% and carvone content of 7.51%, in treatment C the acquisition of essential oil was 2.074% and carvone content of 7.68%, in treatment D the yield of essential oil was 4.857% and the content of carvone was 5.03%, and in treatment E, the yield of essential oil was 2.784% and the content of carvone was 14.23%. In treatment D, although the yield showed the highest percentage, there were many impurities in the extraction results. The conclusion of this study shows the best treatment is the treatment of 100% ABM and Lindi Biochonversion BSF results in watermelon waste have not been able to produce good quantity and quality compared to 100% ABM. text |
