Description
Summary:The increasing population accompanied by the high flow of urbanization to urban areas has led to a higher volume of waste product that must be managed in urban areas. The problem of waste management often becomes an urban problem in Indonesia. One of them is in the Suwung Landfill which is the Sarbagita Regional Landfill. Located in a strategic area of tourism in Bali, the problems at Suwung Landfill affected the image of the environment and tourism. Revitalization has been carried out in 2017 – 2019, one of the works in the form of closing the ex-landfill area into Green open space which is projected to become ecotourism. The results of the revitalization Bukit Suwung Green open space until 2021 are in abandoned condition and have not been opened to the public. This is because unintegrated of Green open space with the surrounding area, one of which is an active waste management system that does not pay attention to the environmental aspects, generated odor, and visual problems. The potential for development as an urban tourism area, with a purpose to design urban tourism area based on the Green Development Concept in Suwung Ex-Landfill. The design method used is the Synoptic Method. Started with data collection and observation of existing conditions to produce a design simulation. The design area is ±82.41 ha with consideration of achieving a circular economy in the area. The area is generally developed into three main functions, namely as an ISWM area, Tahura area, and Eco-Town. The three functions are interrelated with the integrated Urban Ecotourism development scheme. The land use functions developed in the area include commercial functions, settlements, social facilities, industry, waste management, and forest park. The spatial arrangement of the area uses the local concept of Balinese Architecture. The waste management system is carried out starting from the process of sorting, recycling, composting, incineration and landfill. All waste management results can be utilized in the area. One of the developments carried out is to design the Bukit Suwung Green Open Space to become a Botanical Park with compost from waste processing and water from leachate-treated water. Indoor Botanical Park design with Geodesic Dome structure and using a transparent layer so that unpleasant odors do not interfere with public functions in Green open space. Development is carried out with five years as a short term and 15 years as a long term. Thus, the integrated Urban Ecotourism can prosper from environmental, social, and economic aspects.
