ANALYSIS AND MODELING OF NITROGEN CONCENTRATION AS A PARAMETER OF WATER QUALITY IN CULTIVATION SYSTEMS OF TILAPIA (OREOCHROMIS NILOTICUS) AND GENJER (LIMNOCHARIS FLAVA) IN BUCKET (BUDIKDAMBER) WITH DIFFERENT POPULATION DENSITIES

The optimum environmental conditions like water quality and population density in aquaculture system are important factors that can determine the success of the cultivation process and fish growth. Aquaculture system can be applicated on a small scale, for example in bucket or chamber. The technique...

Aquaculture system can be applicated on a small scale, for example in bucket or chamber. The technique of cultivating fish in the bucket that uses the principle of aquaponics is used to overcome the limitations of the existing land. This system also has the advantage of using water which is quite efficient because it tends not to change water repeatedly. This research uses an aquaponic system with Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Genjer (Limnocharis flava) as commodities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tilapia population density on the concentrations of NH3, NO2, and NO3 and determine the equation that describes the availability of NH3, NO2, and NO3 in the tilapia and genjer cultivation system in buckets. The results of the study obtained that the population density of tilapia with the number of 3, 5, 7, and 9 gave a significantly different effect on the concentration of NH3 in water samples of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Genjer (Limnocharis flava) in Bucket (Budikdamber). Data analysis and processing resulted in ammonia modeling with R² = 0.9916, 1, 0.9998, R² = 0.9983, nitrite modeling with R² = 0.7247, 0.8598, 0.9126, 0.8531, and nitrite modeling with R² = 0.8217, 0.8499, 0.9603, R² = 0.6434. text
