Summary: | Tourists want a travel experience that is related to lifestyle changes, an interest in
science, and an appreciation of cultural values. One of the tours that can provide
this experience is astrotourism. Not all locations can be used as prospective
locations for astrotourism development. This research was conducted in Bangka
Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The study used a quantitative
approach with purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used observations,
documentation studies, and interviews to determine the climate comfort index for
astrotourism activities and potential astrotourism locations. Natural parameters in
the form of meteorological climatological conditions and elevation. While the nonnatural
parameters are the brightness of the night sky and anthropogenic factors in
the form of road vehicle accessibility, the availability of tourist facilities such as
culinary centers and Toilet Washing Facilities (TWF), tourism support facilities
such as security posts and health posts, the possibility of the availability of tour
guides, proximity to tourist attractions. other tourist attractions, and the presence of
inns/hotels in the vicinity of astrotourism sites. Documentation study to collect
meteorological climatological data from the Indonesian Meteorology and
Climatology Agency. Elevation data was measured using the Global Positioning
System (GPS). For data, the brightness of the night sky is measured using a Sky
Quality Meter (SQM) and anthropogenic parameters are the results of observations
in the field. The results showed that the climatological and meteorological
conditions of Bangka Island could be categorized as Good and Comfortable for
astrotourism activities and astrotourism potential locations with the highest
weighting points for elevation parameters, sky brightness, and anthropogenic
factors, namely Bukit Tujuh Sempan Village, Pemali District with a weighting
value of 61 points so that Bukit Tujuh becomes a prospective tourist destination for
the development of astrotourism in Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands
Province. Astrotourism in Bukit Tujuh, Bangka Regency is expected to be able to
increase the added value of the travel experience and spur economic growth in the
community in the future. |
