Summary: | Cultural objects are essential resources to manage because they are an important element in
showing the identity and characteristics of culture in society; therefore, cultural objects are
critical aspects that are the research target by researchers. As an element with a physical form,
cultural objects cannot be separated from the potential for damage or even disappearance.
Cultural objects have been archived through physical museums and with the help of
technological developments, nowadays many museums are developed in digital form. The
existence of physical museums scattered in various regions is also an access barrier for some
people, especially during this pandemic, so that digital museums can be a solution because
they are easily accessible to the public. The existence of digital museums is motivated by the
development of documentation methods that can be applied in archiving cultural objects. This
research explicitly discusses 3D documentation using photogrammetric methods in the field.
In previous studies, experiments using this method were carried out on a representative
sample. It was proven that the application of photogrammetry resulted from insufficient data
quality as a standard for archiving cultural objects. Therefore this study aims to apply the
photogrammetric method in previous research to actual field conditions and use it on cultural
objects. This study used a qualitative approach and selected the objects of pottery and
decorative ceramics from Plered, Purwakarta, as a case study. Powered is a ceramics center
that has existed since 1904 and continues to grow until now. The variety of handicraft objects
that continue to grow results from the development of production techniques owned by the
Plered community for generations to be exciting things to research. The results of this study
are in the form of photogrammetric application procedures that are suitable for field
conditions along with a visual filing system for Plered pottery and ceramics based on
techniques owned by the community there in digital form so that the output of this study can
help other researchers in terms of collecting data in the field for digital preservation purposes,
especially those that require a study of the visual form of an object |
