The case study focused on literature studies, in-depth observations, questionnaires and interviews. The findings of this study indicate the aesthetic principles that should be applied in the process of planning and designing government buildings. text |

In carrying out its duties as a regional legislative body, the Regional People’s
Representative Assembly (DPRD) certainly needs adequate facilities and
infrastructure. In addition to fulfilling its function as a forum for activities, the
DPRD building also plays an important role as a representation of specific regions.
Ideally, the shape of this building must be able to represent its function as a
government building as well as a symbol that represents their respective regions.
However, it is often as if the design of the DPRD building is ignored, so that the
DPRD building is one of the government buildings that is considered
unrepresentative. This is caused by the scarcity of previous studies which review in
depth about architectural perceptions, especially in the DPRD building. This
research recommends Bandung City DPRD Building as a case study because the
object is considered lacking by the public. Thus, the expression of the architecture
of the DPRD building becomes an important issue for further investigation given
the increasing need for infrastructure so that development will continue in the
future. It is hoped that this research can be a reference in designing other buildings
that have similar characteristics.
This research on the perception of architecture of the Bandung City DPRD Building
as a legislative building uses fenomenology qualitative methods. The case study
focused on literature studies, in-depth observations, questionnaires and interviews.
The findings of this study indicate the aesthetic principles that should be applied in
the process of planning and designing government buildings. |
