Almost 80% of raw materials and many crucial medicinal and vaccine needs are imported. Core competency analysis is needed to increase the competitive advantages of the national pharmaceutical industry. This research provides an overview of the core competencies and sub-competencies are needed in dealing with the digital era. Then, with the best literature and analysis, researchers identified an essential element to prepare workers for a disruptive era. The research was conducted using Delphi method as many as three rounds involving a total of 82 in first and second round, continuing with 71 experts in third round. The first and second rounds aims to analyze the core competency needed by conducted survey to answer research objective. Core competencies identified: (1) Problem Solving and Decision Making, (2) Entrepreneurial Thinking, (3) Research Skills, (4) Intrapreneurial Skills, (5) Digital Skills, (6) Regulatory Compliance, (7) Bioinformatics, and (8) Data Ethics. The third round aims to analyze and triangulate the competencies and sub-competencies required by the national pharmaceutical industry. The results of the study were processed using Exploratory Factor Analysis and produced six factors representing six competencies and 56 sub-competencies. The research concludes that learning and innovation skills account for 17.75% variance, research skills for 15.18% variance, digital skills for 12.53% variance, bioinformatics for 11.22% variance, ethics data for 11.09% variance, and regulatory compliance for 10.04% variance. The research findings are expected to contribute to scientific studies on human resource (HR) development and improve the competitive advantage of the Pharmaceutical Industry 4.0. text
