The increment of the number of tourists makes tourism industry one of the promising industries in economic sector. The increment of the number of tourists can help to improve Indonesia economic by increasing nation’s gross domestic product. Tourist’s decision to visit a tourism region heavily influences the increment of the number of tourists. The decision to visit a tourism region can be escalated with a proper travel plan. Travel planning can be done with the help of information technology called decision support system. Decision support system model must be made first as a foundation to design decision support system. Decision support system model has process to display information of tourism region, accommodation, transportation, and tourist attraction. Besides, decision support system model includes selection process of tourism region, accommodation, transportation, and tourist attraction. Decision support system model also includes the process of managing data inputs, managing tourist account, managing reviews, and managing travel plans’ recapitulation. Decision support system model’s design can be utilized by North Sumatra department of culture and tourism as a foundation to build an application(s).
