The biggest challenge felt by these companies is how to be able to appear to the surface or in other words to be recognized by the market as a usable product or service. Software development projects involve high failure rates, which are part of a large set of challenges that digital start-up companies face. The main objective is to find out the factors which help in selecting effectiveness of Scrum as a framework for a given project software product development in digital start-up Indonesia. To explore the influence of Scrum on project effectiveness in software product development at the Indonesian Digital Start-up Company and to explore the three moderators i.e. project management experience, project team size and project duration moderate the relationship between a project manager’s leadership roles and project team effectiveness in Indonesian Digital Start-up Company. This research uses quantitative methods. In this study, there are five critical success factors Scrum that will be tested against the three success factors of project management. Of the five critical success factors of Scrum, there are 5 (five) variables independent (schedule, scope, resources, leadership and team performance) that will be tested against the dependent variable on the effectiveness of Scrum. Besides, there are 3 (three) moderating variables that control between variable relationships, namely PM experiences, project duration, and project team size. The number of samples taken is as many as 100 people from the total population of employees Indonesian digital start-up who are involved in IT projects with the Scrum framework. Data were collected from December 2020 to April 2021 by distributing questionnaires. Data is taken at various type of start-up, from the ecommerce, transportation, fintech across Indonesia. The size of the start-up also varies, from the decacorn, unicorn and early rising start-up. The analytical method used is PLS-SEM analysis. Tests conducted in this study are evaluation of measurement model which consists of validity and reliability test. The current investigations integrate robust theory and provide evidence from field studies for beneficial effects on project effectiveness. In addition, project management experience and project duration show a strong impact in supporting the influence of leadership on project effectiveness. However, team size has a negative moderating effect on the influence of leadership on project effectiveness. The results have several significant implications for theory and practice. text |
