Summary: | A Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) area is defined as a community of mix-used areas and buildings that encourage citizens to live and have activities in areas that have public transport facilities and reducing the use of private transports. The implementation of TOD brings many benefits, such as expanding mobility options, increasing the land value, growing desire for a more walkable and bikeable lifestyle, and giving affordable housing. However, one of the major challenges of the development of the TOD is environmental noise such as public transportation and traffic noise.
This research has conducted a study and analysis of noise in the TOD of Indonesia, This research took place in Cipete, with Cipete Raya MRT Station as its central station stop. The steps of this research are noise mapping modeling simulation and study of building sound transmission medium performance. According to the noise contour map obtained, the noise level in the area alongside the RS Fatmawati Road and MRT railway are around 74-77 dBA at the day and 65-68 dBA at night for an elevation of 16.3 meters and more than 77 dBA at the day and 68–71 dBA at night for an elevation of 1.5 meters. Variations in operational parameters of MRT did not give a significant impact on noise reduction on façade, where the difference of LSM is just around 0-1,2 dBA and the noise level of the majority of areas that are being modeled still exceeds the noise quality standard (Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 48/1996). The partition wall system in buildings should be rated from STC-32 to STC-47 so the sound pressure level of the room meets the maximum standard required by SNI 03-6386-2000.
