Summary: | Museum is an education-based public facility that some people rarely visit. One of
the museums in Indonesia is Batik Museum in Pekalongan City. This cultural
museum exhibits the nation's cultural heritage, batik, which includes various
collections of batik cloth from several regions in the country to overseas. Through
this facility, people are invited to discover more about batik culture and also to
increase awareness of the importance of preserving this culture. Unfortunately,
most people are not very interested in visiting the Batik Museum because they
have no urgency to visit. In addition, some people still think of museum as boring
and monotonous place. This is reflected in the lack of public visits to Batik
Museum, especially those who was motivated by self-will. Therefore, the planning
for the revitalization of Batik Museum aims to maximize the potential of the Batik
Museum according to its function so that the number of visits can increase and it
can further raise awareness of the importance of preserving batik culture. The
data collection method was carried out by field observation, literature study, and
interviews. The design for the revitalization of the Batik Museum will use a
concept with an interactive design pproach.
