The role and function of the commercial corridor of Kisamaun Street cannot be separated from the origin of Tangerang as a city. This street is located in Tangerang Old Market, which is both chinatown and cultural heritage area. However, the historical image along Kisamaun Street began to decline because many old buildings with typical chinatown architecture were damaged. Commercial activities also contribute to worsening street conditions to pay attention to the rights of pedestrians as dominant street users. On top of this phenomenon, the need to maintain local history and identity becomes urgent because it has an impact on the economy and tourism. Shared street is a combination of roads and public spaces where pedestrians, cyclists, and motorized vehicles can use roads that are designed to increase public space in a crowded environment. The shared street concept has been widely implemented in many cities in the world which is usually applied to roads that are not possible to build, have a fairly high number of pedestrians, and low volume of motorized vehicles. As a commercial area in Tangerang Old Town Area, shared street concept can be a solution for structuring the Kisamaun Street as a cultural and culinary tourism area as well as restoring the historical image of Tangerang Old Town Area. Therefore, this research aims to compile the design principles of the Kisamaun Street as a commercial corridor forming the historical identity of Tangerang Old Town Area. This research is exploratory by testing the application of the shared street concept into the Kisamaun Street corridor. The data used in this study are the results of observations and literature studies related to the design and concept of shared street. From the results of the analysis, five criteria are produced that must be met in the design of Kisamaun Street with the shared street concept, namely comfort, safety, beauty, social interaction, and preservation, as well as three components that need to be regulated, namely activity management, street dimensions, and street furniture. The adaptation of the shared street concept to the Kisamaun Road corridor design principle was carried out to create the Kisamaun Street corridor as an adaptive and attractive shared street corridor within the Tangerang Old Town Area. text
