Dementia is a degradation in cognitive function of the brain that commonly prey on elders. West Java with its steadily increasing numbers of senior citizen every year has enter a category of an ageing population which means more than 10% of the population are elders above 60 years of age. With the recent developments elders in Bandung as one of the city in West Java could be experiencing a degradation in their cognitive function resulting in dementia. To intervene the developments of dementia a means by using nostalgic memory of the elders in a social environment, such as a nursing home The aim of the research is to identify and explore the methods to intervene dementia utilizing nostalgic memories in a social environment, furthermore identifying and implementing the solution for an interior design of a nursing home. The process of data collecting in the research utilize mix methods, that combinate the qualitative and quantitative collecting methods. The process incorporates literature study and analysis The concept focuses on the daily living activity that evokes nostalgic memories such as cooking and wandering, supported by a design, visual and facility that is familiar with the resident’s regional culture approach, presented by heavily considering simplicity and personalization
