Summary: | PLTU X is a steam power plant that uses coal to generate electricity. PLTU X consists of two units, namely unit III and unit IV. At PLTU X unit IV, the electricity capacity generated is 100 MW. The rate of use of coal to reach this capacity is 1,212.8 kg/hour where the sulfur content of the coal used is 0.38%. Based on the results of CEMS measurements, the concentration of sulfur dioxide (SO2) emitted before going through the actual FGD was 1,325,150 mg / Nm3. Although PLTU X unit IV already has FGD with limestone injection into the boiler, the resulting SO2 emission concentration is still high with an average of 1060.65 mg / Nm3. This concentration passes the quality standard of SO2 emissions from thermal power plants in the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 15 of 2019, attachment 1, namely 550 mg / Nm3. Therefore, it is necessary to redesign the actual SO2 control system so that the resulting emissions do not pass the quality standard and the efficiency or reliability of the FGD at PLTU X unit IV increases. The FGD system is designed to carry the spray drying concept, which consists of a lime reagent processing unit, atomizer, spray drying chamber, particulate control, slurry tank, recycle slurry tank, as well as ducting and piping. Based on the design results, the planned investment cost for the selected system is IDR 12.658.174.877. Meanwhile, the planned budget for operational costs is IDR 6.357.318.305 per year. |
