Description
Summary:Volve Field in South Viking Graben is a hydrocarbon producer field which had operated for eight years before finally stopped. For research and academic purpose only, Volve Field dataset was published. The available data includes well data and seismic data, both post-stack and partial angle stack. This research is aiming to characterize reservoir located in Volve Field. To be able to do such thing, sensitive elastic parameter is needed to differentiate reservoir zone with nonreservoir zone. The sensitive elastic parameter will be used while doing seismic inversion. Seismic inversion used is Extended Elastic Impedance (EEI). Sensitive elastic parameters used in this research are Poisson’s Ratio and Lambda-Rho*Poisson’s Ratio obtained by doing sensitivity analysis. That parameter will be used during EEI and will be rotated by the optimal degree obtained later. After that, AVO analysis will be done using two term Aki-Richard equation to produce Rp and Rs volume. Rp and Rs volume produced will be used to make EEI reflectivity volume. The EEI reflectivity volume will be used as foundation while making initial model. Inversion done in this research is model based and sparse spike. Because each of these method has their own inclination toward certain type of data, frequency domain merge will be done to avoid bias from the result. From inversion result slicing is done to observe the lateral distributon of sandstone.
