Maxtekno is an IT service company that has a headquarter in Singapore. They are one of
the companies that opens job vacancies even during the pandemic. In 2020 itself, there are 7.416
candidates that applied to Maxtekno, but only 153 candidates were recruited. With the huge
number of candidates, the HR team needs a system that simplify their work. Unfortunately, the
current system and process is still too complicated and requires too much manual processes.
The aim of this study is to propose an improvement for the current recruitment application
for Maxtekno so that the work capacity of the HR team can be increased and the recruitment
process can be accelerated. To do so, this study also aims to gather requirement for the improved
recruitment application, validate the fulfillment of requirement based on the design and the
prototype created, and to gather feedback from the users for the next iteration. The scrum
methodology also aimed to be review in this study on how it affects the development.
The research methodology being used in this study is qualitative research. The first
interview phase is with the HR team to gather the business issue and the root cause of the issue.
The second interview phase is done to gather requirements from the users, they are HR team
members, interviewers, and candidates. Feasibility and difficulty assessment also done in the
second interview phase by interviewing the developer team. Third interview phase is conducted
during sprint review. Each of the user is interviewed to validate the requirement fulfillment based
on the design and prototype and feedback for next iteration is gathered. The development team
members are also interviewed to assess the effect of scrum methodology in the development
As a result of this research, a revamp of the recruitment platform is proposed so to tackle
the root cause which is to provide scoring form and to have automation method to follow-up
candidates. The requirement of the application is mainly to centralize the end-to-end recruitment
process and to have automation features. After the prototype is created, the users sees that the
product could solve the problems and fulfill the users’ needs. For the next iterations, the team will
develop acceptance sheet, reorder the form fields in the recruitment platform, provide submission
page for the candidate and develop notification after status change in the candidate. The
development team sees that scrum methodology allows flexibility with measurable progress in
the development.
