This research aims to give suggestion to Department of Transportation Bandung about using electric bus as replacement for diesel bus for BRT system in Bandung. Business issue exploration were done by situation analysis by analyzing internal and external business environment, and analysis on BRT route and market research by doing market research for diesel and electric bus, battery, and charger prices. External environment analysis shows the advantage in political, economy, technology, environmental, and legal aspect and disadvantage in social aspect due to lack of willingness of bus usage and ease of substitute product. Internal environment shows Department of Transportation Bandung lacks internal capabilities to do business and needs of third party. There were 12 routes that were planned for BRT system and the routes would complement the existing routes. Market research shows availability of local and overseas supplier of buses, charger, and the price of battery were expected to drop to 80 USD per kWh in 2030. Business solution was done by calculating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) per km of single bus, medium bus and small bus that uses electricity and diesel engine in each route and TCO per km of charging strategies for its operation. Sensitivity analysis was done to find the most affecting parameter for electric bus TCO per km and its significance. Electric buses that have the lowest deployment cost and TCO per km were Single Bus 315.85 kWh, Medium Bus 291.6 kWh, and Small Bus 175 kWh. The best charging strategy were using 150 kW charger in each depot and terminal. The most affecting parameter for TCO per km of electric buses were price of the bus, maintenance cost, and staff and overhead cost but there was no significant parameter that could drastically change the TCO per km of electric bus. Increasing the contract year decrease the TCO per km and decreasing the contract year increase the TCO per km. Suggested implementation plan were done by planning electric bus usage, market research, implementation trial, pilot project and then normal operation. text |

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system were created to combat traffic jams and pollution
problem. Currently used diesel buses has problem of creating pollution during its
operation. Electric bus has advantage of no pollution created and lower operation and
maintenance cost but has disadvantage of higher initial cost. This research aims to give
suggestion to Department of Transportation Bandung about using electric bus as
replacement for diesel bus for BRT system in Bandung.
Business issue exploration were done by situation analysis by analyzing internal and
external business environment, and analysis on BRT route and market research by doing
market research for diesel and electric bus, battery, and charger prices. External
environment analysis shows the advantage in political, economy, technology,
environmental, and legal aspect and disadvantage in social aspect due to lack of
willingness of bus usage and ease of substitute product. Internal environment shows
Department of Transportation Bandung lacks internal capabilities to do business and
needs of third party. There were 12 routes that were planned for BRT system and the
routes would complement the existing routes. Market research shows availability of local
and overseas supplier of buses, charger, and the price of battery were expected to drop to
80 USD per kWh in 2030.
Business solution was done by calculating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) per km of
single bus, medium bus and small bus that uses electricity and diesel engine in each route
and TCO per km of charging strategies for its operation. Sensitivity analysis was done to
find the most affecting parameter for electric bus TCO per km and its significance.
Electric buses that have the lowest deployment cost and TCO per km were Single Bus
315.85 kWh, Medium Bus 291.6 kWh, and Small Bus 175 kWh. The best charging
strategy were using 150 kW charger in each depot and terminal. The most affecting
parameter for TCO per km of electric buses were price of the bus, maintenance cost, and
staff and overhead cost but there was no significant parameter that could drastically
change the TCO per km of electric bus. Increasing the contract year decrease the TCO per
