Then, on the other hand, the credibility of the tourism sector and the creative economy are used by the government to recover the national economy. One of the strategies carried out is to involve the active role of the millennial generation as movers and actors who are prospective to spread positive content related to the implementation of health, hygiene, security, and comfort protocols to increase public trust for traveling in the country. This study was conducted to identify the behavior of millennial tourists on the island of Java. Millennial tourists in question are those born in 1980-1996, according to the results of the BPS population census in 2020. Hopefully, this research can be used as guidelines for the government, and tourism businesses can make policies and meet the needs of tourists to achieve efficient and targeted tourism development. The study was conducted a year after the Covid-19 case in Indonesia, particularly in April 2021. Through the distribution of e-questionnaires to 350 respondents, the data was diagnose using three analytical techniques, descriptive statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and cross-tabulation analysis. This study found that there were behavioral changes in Javanese millennial tourists. Seven travel motivation factors formed from 27 motivational variables. Tourists tend to choose culinary tourism, outdoor activities, nature tourism (seeing the scenery and beaches), and staycation. Select to use private accommodation/relatives and 4-star hotels, and use private transportation. The selection of the tourism 3A component was due to the two factors, are health protocol of covid-19 and relaxation. text |
