Summary: | In order to support Radin Inten II Airport as an International Airport, in 2018 the
Ministry of Transportation and the Lampung Provincial Government planned to
realize the construction of an Airport Railway through the development of an
Airport Railway Station with an operation target of 2022. The train was chosen as
a mode of support for Radin Inten II Airport because it has advantages in transport
capacity, energy saving, safety, environmental friendly, and efficient in travel time
when compared to road transportation modes. Based on the daily traffic survey, on
average, 118.653 vehicles pass along the road to Radin Inten II Airport. If the
traffic flow is not diverted to another route, it will cause congestion in the future.
Currently, the available public transportation modes are Taxi and Bus, but these
two modes are not superior in terms of fares and travel time, so that if there is a
new alternative mode to the airport, namely Train, this study aims to determine the
probability of choosing Airport Train as a mode of transportation to Radin Inten II
Airport. This research uses Multinomial Logit with Biogeme 2.6 and Sensitivity
Test. The Multinomial Logit model produces a probability of selecting the Airport
Train mode of 54%. Strategies that can be done in optimizing the use of Airport
Trains are lowering Airport Train fares with special discount tickets for weekdays,
or with a railway airport member card with 10% discount, then increasing toll rates
to limit the use of private vehicles and applying progressive parking rates as high
as possible. At Radin Inten II Airport, in addition, it is necessary to improve the
feeder to Tanjungkarang Station to capture the demand of individuals who live far
from the train station. |
