One of the industries that keep increasing from time to time is the textile industry. Along with the development of textiles in Indonesia, there are negative impacts from the development of the industry. using nonrecyclable materials, overproduction, use of hazardous chemicals and many more. The importance of the textile industry in the development of the Indonesian economic sector requires a solution to this problem. Awareness of this issue is driving the development of alternative materials in biobased textiles. Biomaterials are biopolymers made from biodegradable organic materials or recycled products. Utilization and processing of biomaterials in Indonesia with proper execution, utilizing excess algae because of the ‘blooming’ process. Indonesia as a maritime country has enormous potential as a provider of biomaterials. Carrageenan is a type of red algae that grows in Indonesia, which can then be used as a component of biomaterials, apart from carrageenan and gelatin, glycerin or plasticizers and structural reinforcing materials are needed to produce usable biomaterials. The production stage includes mixing, cooking, printing and drying. After drying, the material is processed into interior craft products using the Remple sewing technique.
